Our legacy was born from islands where days were unhurried and welcomes instinctive, today we carry forward a way of life where ease is a choice and style is never forced. It’s a mindset as much as a heritage – one that feels contemporary, confident, and alive.
Our legacy began in 1972 with Kurumba, the first-ever resort in the Maldives. As Universal Resorts (now Versa Hospitality), we pioneered the concept of Maldivian island life, creating iconic destinations such as Baros and Huvafen Fushi.
However, it was never just about resorts. It was always about places. What they could become – and what they could mean to someone. As high-end travel becomes ever more staged and unfulfilling, leaving a lingering hunger for something lighter, truer and more human, we’re redefining what it means to travel well.
